Job Summary

The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida seeks a Concert Production  Carpenter to lead the logistical build/load-in/load-out/assembly of choral risers/platforms and other set pieces for our performances throughout the concert year. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the chorus’ storage facility. GMCSF is a 501c3, non-profit organization based in Wilton Manors, FL with a mission to open minds and change hearts with our music. We present three major concerts per season in December, March, and June and additional smaller concerts, fundraisers, and outreach performances throughout the year.

Skills

• Put safety first in every aspect of the job.
• Possess excellent handyman skills, most importantly carpentry.
• Have access to woodworking tools (e.g. saws, drills, and other hand tools)
• Have day/evening and weekend availability, including early mornings and late nights at concert time.
• Maintain good physical stamina and ability to lift, push or pull 50+ lbs.
• Have an active license and regular access to a pick-up truck or van.
• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Be able to work independently as well as to motivate others.
• Be a team player with excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrate inclusive behavior for all.
• Have excellent organizational skills and an eagerness to take the initiative when warranted.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Ability to Commute: Wilton Manors, FL 33305, and South Florida areas, including Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.
