The Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida (GMCSF) brings live music and entertainment to the community through large-scale, main-stage concerts in high-profile venues, community-based engagements, and volunteer projects. More than 20,000 people are inspired and moved each year by the Chorus's music, community outreach, and mission, making GMCSF a significant LGBTQ+ nonprofit service organization and cultural asset in the heart of South Florida. With more than 180 singing members, GMCSF is the most prominent gay men's chorus in the southeastern United States and the country's top 10 largest nonprofit LGBTQ+ choruses.
Mission: We sing so that LGBTQ+ people can live their truth through quality music experiences that inspire audiences, open minds, change hearts, and affirm our common humanity. Vision: A diverse world united. Our members are a community of singers dedicated to our mission and a better future for everyone. Being a member of the Chorus is not just about singing. It is also about being good role models for our youth, giving back to the community, and helping those who need it. GMCSF serves communities with live music and entertainment through community outreach in Broward, Miami Dade, Palm Beach counties, Fort Lauderdale, Wilton Manors, and more!
GMCSF has completed an ADA self-evaluation of our performance spaces; all are fully ADA-compliant. We only use venues that can support the broadest range of abilities. All seating charts include wheelchair-accessible locations, lobbies have accessible counter heights and signage, and restrooms include accessible facilities. Two of our three venues offer assistive listening devices, and we provide ASL interpreters at concerts and content in alternative formats when needed. Our offices, stages, and backstage areas are fully accessible for performers, crew, and staff. Please get in touch with our offices for further information on our DEI, ADA, and other administrative policies.
We reached the end of the 13th season of the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida, entitled, WE SING GAY! I know many of you were excited to see what was planned for the 13th season, and I look forward to sharing what you can look forward to in Season 14 soon. I hope you will be as enthusiastic about the season program as I am. The future of our nonprofit organization is bright, and I hope you are ready to be a part of something spectacular!
We live in a place where, unfortunately, anti-LGBTQ+ laws are taking effect, and we regularly witness attacks on the community. GMCSF promises to bring a music program that is relevant, influential, and relatable to all communities. We will be that shining light of hope, inspiring the support for ending discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
I Dream of a Time, music and lyrics by Tom Nichols and Dan Chadburn, was performed live in the Songs of The Phoenix concert on March 24, 2023, at The Parker in Fort Lauderdale—more videos on YouTube.
