Mission: We sing so that LGBTQ+ people can live their truth through quality music experiences that inspire audiences, open minds, change hearts, and affirm our common humanity. The Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida (GMCSF) is a vibrant community of voices, blending generations and cultures in harmony with one mission: to shape a brighter, more inclusive future through music. GMCSF stands as a powerful force for advocacy, using the universal language of music to transcend social barriers and uplift the LGBTQ+ community.
With a roster of over 160 talented singers, GMCSF is the largest gay men's chorus in the southeastern United States and one of the top ten LGBTQ+ choruses in the country. Our grand-scale concerts, meaningful community engagements, and volunteer-driven outreach touch lives throughout South Florida and beyond. Under the direction of Artistic Director Gabe Salazar, GMCSF captivates annually ~35,000 live audience members while welcoming ~77,000 visitors to its growing digital platform, gmcsf.org.
A significant milestone was reached in December 2016 when GMCSF partnered with Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood to present its holiday concert at Hard Rock Live. What began as a landmark event has evolved into a dynamic nine-year partnership rooted in music, visibility, and community impact.
Our impact reaches from Miami Heat and Miami Marlins Pride Nights to the International Gay Polo Tournament in Wellington and Treasure Coast Pride Fest at the Saint Lucie County Fairgrounds, driven by the heart and dedication of our volunteers. GMCSF is dedicated to providing inclusive and welcoming experiences for all members of our community, regardless of physical ability. We prioritize ADA compliance at every venue, ensuring access through wheelchair ramps, designated seating, and mobility accommodations. To support our Deaf and hard-of-hearing patrons, we also provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters at select performances. But accessibility goes beyond logistics. Being part of the Chorus is a powerful act of visibility and pride. Our members don’t just sing, they stand as living symbols of joy, resilience, and community. They serve as mentors for younger generations, champions for equity, and advocates for those who need a voice.

Season 16 will remain one of the most meaningful chapters in our history. Together, we brought Amor Eterno into the world through a sold-out premiere at the Au-Rene Theater. The music asked so much of us. It demanded extra rehearsals, emotional honesty, and the courage to stand before our community and give voice to grief, memory, and hope. You met every challenge with passion and conviction. The standing ovation that night was not just for the notes on the page. It was for the years of preparation, the personal outreach, and the unshakeable belief that music heals.
None of this happens alone. I am deeply grateful to our multi-generational voices, our staff, board, volunteers, donors, and creative partners who carried this vision from the first rehearsal to the final bow. You reminded our audiences why music matters. You reminded me why I do this work. As we look ahead to Season 17, I carry the joy and pride of Amor Eterno with me. Thank you for trusting the process, showing up when it was difficult, and giving your whole heart to this season. I cannot wait to see what we create next.
