YPCSF will engage young people from Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties for whom participation in a chorus can be life-changing. Prior singing experience is not required to participate in YPCSF. The group will work on music that matches the members' skill levels, and our goal is to promote messages of inclusion and a sense of belonging for everyone. We welcome all LGBTQIA+ singers of all gender identities who are of high school age in the current school year.
Saturday, July 23, 2022, 10am – 5pm. Location is TBD.
As we continue to grow the Youth Pride Chorus of South Florida, our organization wants to welcome and celebrate everyone of all gender identities and sexual orientations. Join LGBTQ+ teens and their allies for a day of singing, celebrating, and activism. Spend the day learning songs which we will perform for a gathering of your family and friends. We will also have conversations about empowerment when our rights are under attack, and we will hear from a special guest or two. There is no cost to participate, but an RSVP for you and your party is required: Email us your name, email, and phone number.
Rehearsals/Performances – We are planning rehearsals to be held on two Saturdays a month,, with an appearance in our concerts. Depending on the interests and availability of the group, additional community appearances may be developed.
Safety protocols – We will be adhering to strict safety protocols with regards to adults and youth working together. All adults who work directly with youth must pass a criminal background check, and at no time will a young participant be alone with an adult. Parents/guardians are permitted and encouraged to attend rehearsals. Participants will submit health information and medical releases as part of their registration. COVID-19 protocols may be in effect.
Participation fees – Dues for each concert session are $35. Scholarships opportunities are also available.
Volunteering – We welcome parents and legal guardians who would like to assist with YPCSF in any capacity. All adult volunteers must register and agree to a criminal record check. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out our volunteer form.
