The Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida (GMCSF) is a vibrant community of singers, uniting diverse voices across generations and cultures with a shared commitment to shaping a brighter future for all. Beyond the artistry of music, GMCSF emerges as a formidable force dedicated to transcending social barriers while visibly and powerfully advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. Being a part of the Chorus is more than simply singing; it's a profound expression of LGBTQ+ identity. GMCSF's impact resonates far and wide as it brings live music to the region through grand-scale concerts in prestigious venues, far-reaching community engagements, and meaningful volunteer initiatives. Boasting over 180 talented singing members, GMCSF proudly stands as one of the top, award-winning LGBTQ+ nonprofit arts organizations in the State of Florida, the largest gay men's chorus in the southeastern United States, and ranks among one of the nation's top ten LGBTQ+ choruses. Led by Artistic Director Gabe Salazar, the Chorus's performances captivate more than 35,000 individuals each year, solidifying its position as a vital cultural asset in the heart of South Florida.
The Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida is dedicated to fostering an inclusive experience for all community members, irrespective of their physical abilities. We prioritize ADA compliance at our chosen venues, diligently selecting locations with wheelchair ramps, accessible seating, and accommodations for individuals facing mobility challenges. Moreover, we provide ASL interpreters at our shows to enhance accessibility in our LGBTQ+ concerts. Our commitment is unwavering as we consistently work towards improving inclusivity in every facet of our organization. Do not let your voice go unheard! 2024-2025 is a time to gather, make noise, and celebrate our collective strength through great music. Join us for our 15th anniversary and give a big SHOUT! to the LGBTQ+ community. Your participation is not just welcomed; it's crucial. Our season features some of your most cherished music from your most admired artists. The LGBTQ+ community is not just here but also the core of the region's identity and the heart and soul of our Chorus. This year, we bring you that heart, soul, and abundant joy through three remarkable concerts.
We kick off the season with our beloved A Holiday Spectacular, returning to two iconic venues: Sunshine Cathedral and Hard Rock Live! This year's performances continue a cherished South Florida holiday tradition of great music that brings us together. In the spring, we bring you Broadway Blockbusters, a must-attend event that will showcase the very best of Broadway. Whether you're a lifelong theater enthusiast or a newcomer to the magic of musical theater, this performance promises to deliver the kind of artistry and emotion that only the music of Broadway can evoke. Finally, we will close our anniversary season with a genuinely dazzling event: our Pride concert, Dazzling Divas, celebrating specific iconic female voices that have shaped the music world while proudly advocating for our community.
